oil pump strainer #130 180 0655 needed, can't find anywhere
« on: December 31, 2020, 18:57:25 »
Hello, am replacing my oil pan gasket and realized that there was no adapter inside my oil pan. I have a 1965 230sl, which has the "upgraded" upper pan and ribbed oil pan, 19 holes and the late model style oil dip stick. I read here in the forums that :

"The factory supplies a rubber adapter for oil pick-up for the oil pump to be used with the new "ribbed" pan. It extends the oil pump pick-up further into the new deep pan. This adapter along with the oil pump strainer #130 180 0655 should be replaced before installing the ribbed pan." When I check the web, I cannot find any outlet that seems to carry it. Normally, the web would at least have someone, Mercedes or ebay etc. with that specific part. Has anyone out there, had to replace this adapter, or order it for the newest style oil pan with the extra oil capacity?

Thanks.

Hi,
If you are just looking for the rubber adapter,   i assume that parz number  116 186 00 07 or febi bilstein 07117 will do.

Just checked, it is this part number. No issue with availability, cost (here) about $10. Not mentioned for W113 specifically, but it probably does not matter.

I think that the hole in the strainer for the rubber adapter may be larger so you might need the newer strainer also. You might be able to make the hole larger yourself in your old one.

The ribbed oil pan is only part of that system as it also includes the aluminum oil pan with the windage tray. I used this system on my engine build about 20 years ago because I felt it would increase oil circulation and cooling.

Yes, and this upgrade requires an additional amount of oil since the sub pan is a bit deeper.

Where did you find it ? I checked Pelican Parts using those numbers, and it says No Longer Available.
