Heater Control Light Bulb Housing
« on: November 01, 2020, 21:11:21 »
Hi,

Looking for some help locating the plastic lighting housing that is part of the Heating Control assembly.  It is the plastic part where the light fits in that I am looking for.  I have searched all the parts stores I can find.  Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, Michael

I have never seen them sold separately, the complete unit should be available. Like the SL Shop in UK for a very high price. MB has this part not available at this moment.

Hi Michael

You could try Niemoeller

https://www.niemoeller.de/en/w113/w113/B042/830/

They have the early 250SL coloured slides.  000 833 01 40

I think there are perspex lighthouse towers that go inside the slides, and then bulbholder lids.
Maybe candidates for 3D printing ..

I had been thinking the same thing about 3D printing.   Do we have any 3D printing experts in the forum that might be able to assist on how to go about this?

I've been searching through 108 and 109 cars for those heater lever parts. While not all components are the same, it's still worth the effort to grab them.

Making the 3D model would be relatively easy. You would just need to find a company that would print in a translucent plastic that would work for the application. These companies could be local or just find an online company.

Pm me with the dimensions and I can make a 3D file for you.

Buds Benz makes the clear tubes if you need those (very expensive).

Not sure if this would work in your application, but my screw tabs were broken on the clear tube so I look a long small machine screw (a #6 or #8 cant remember), and ran it through the top light housing, and bottom cap. This so far has held the assembly together allowing the levers to pivot around the clear tube.
