280SL wanted to buy
« on: October 30, 2020, 10:00:55 »
On behalf of the client, I am again looking for a car for full restoration. Thanks to this forum last year we already bought one project stage care and now it is already ready for painting.
So we are looking for LHD project stage but compete and number matching 280SL W113 in price margins till 35K USD (depend on condition).
You could see also the photos of the restoration process in our website https://www.rmw.lv/page/lv/mb-280sl-blue-2839-photo-gallery/

Could not find any there this time either. I suggest you try Leboncoin in France, much closer to home anyway. For example this being offered:

Geevers does seem to have many project cars. Many imported from the US, too.

We picked up a late 1969 280SL about six weeks ago. I have it running and driveable but we are still working on the mechanicals. This car will need paint and some interior work but is solid and an excellent rolling restoration candidate.

Contact me if interested.

Not sure if this post is still active, but I have a quick question. How much did you pay for the car that's pictured and linked?

I currently own a 280sl in overall better shape (nice interior, little to no rust, etc.) than the one you shared, but far from being complete. I'm just trying to gauge what the market is for something in project condition.

Thanks!
