Well actually, I need to cancel as Australians are not allowed to travel overseas and will not be allowed to do so until July 2022 at this point. Our vaccination rate is relatively slow and the government wants the population vaccinated to better than 70% before they will re-open borders.

As an island state, like New Zealand, we have almost zero coronavirus in the general population and we want to try to keep it that way. There are currently 15 for the whole of Australia in the last two months and they are all in one family cluster and started from a problem in hotel quarantine

So unfortunately i must withdraw as the first to do so.

Well..., Andy, yes...
Now, I'm not the organizer and cannot prove for sure,
but I have heard (secret) rumors that chances are good... ;)

As to coming from England...,
become vaccinated ASAP (I think your vaccination rate in UK is pretty high, isn't it?),
have this certified, and then it should work fine...

Let's cross fingers.....

Andy and Achim,

Pretty upset Kate and i will miss this one. Other than the 50th year celebration in Germany where i was doing the Australian get together that year, i don’t think I have missed one of the Euro events from the start.
And the State of Victoria has gone into lockdown today for 7 days as they have had a few cases of Covid this week.

Hello all ,

The last couple of weeks we have been a bit reluctant to give the full go-ahead , but things are really looking up at the moment.
Vaccination rate is high all over Europe at the moment, so it's green light for our Euro event in September.

So it gives us much pleasure to say ; We're on !

We will pay our deposit to the Hotel and make the booking solid.

Peter and Johannes will travel to the region to put together the tours and the places we will visit.
We will send all of the attendees a program a couple of weeks before the event.
I cannot give much away at this point ,but to give you all a little peek .....get your " lederhozen "out .

And gary ,we are really sorry to hear you and Kate can't participate , as one of our most loyal participants you will be missed.
I will save you a rally shield.

We will pick up were we left of and get to work to give you all a great 2021 Pagoda Euro Event.

Greetings from the 2021 Team.

Thank you for the notification. I am in the UK and would like to be able to attend, if possible.

Please can you advise whether this is possible, and details when available.

Hopefully we will eventually get out of lockdown in the UK and be allowed to travel more normally (incl to Europe) by September.

Regards
Andrew

Dear Euro Event Attendees ,

The Emails with general details have been send out, and i hope every one of you received it . If not please let us know.
If there are any changes, for instance shirt sizes ?  ( maybe one size bigger  :) ), please let us know before the end of this month.

For now we have a couple of cancellations and the first members on our reseve list have been contacted.
For those who have cancelled ( happens every year ) we want to say that since we have payed the hotel deposit and some goods that allready have been ordered and payed for,
we can only return your deposit if someone takes your place. This is strictly a volunteer initiative so we hope you understand.

We are very happy that despite the delay we have a great Event planned , and really looking forward to it.
We will keep you informed !

Greetings from the Pagoda Euro Event Team ,

Hi all...It's been a long time since I was on here!  In western Austria things are going very well; they just lifted the requirement of FFP2 masks; cloth ones or surgical styles are acceptable but must be worn in all closed locations (shops, apothecary, etc.)
Vaccination rates are high here.  (However, we have seen Portugal go from successful green to the orange list in a matter of weeks--the variants have really messed things up.)  We will see what all this tourism does to our numbers.

You should keep aware of changing requirements, especially if you want to drive across several European countries.  We are classified as Pendlers, so have been able to travel without restrictions, but the requirements have been ever-changing, the paperwork onerous, and the border guards are often seemingly without any instructions. They are making it up as they go along. Each country maintains its power to change the rules at any time. Let's hope this summer tourism gives governments some practice in facilitating FMOP.

Anyway, you guys are going right by us; we are just down the road.  Maybe we can join in part of the drive or a lunch-break or something?  So far, summer has been cool and wet; let's hope for "goldener Oktober" weather!

Hello- I’d like to attend with wife- I didn’t bring my ‘67 230 SL to Europe with me, so can we attend as spectators?  Is there an agenda published?
Thanks

Heads up…
The Urlaub express runs from Düsseldorf to Innsbruck, leaves Wednesday 22nd Sept arriving 8am Thursday 23rd, the day the event starts. Stick your car on the overnight train…

I’m very tempted. The return is less convenient

Hello All ,

Just to let you all know we are working on making it a great event .
And yes the growing worry's about covid does have our full attention .
On this we assume all attendees have been vaccinated and know how to handle and act on local Covid prevention rules .

This means when we meat up, no hugging and kissing and keeping a bit of distance.

And yes it may be a bit late but we can report that we have 2 last minute places opened up for our event.... so for those who still want to join please respond with a PM .

The 2021 Euro Event Team.

Another heads up...NOAA's European projections issued yesterday look like we're going to continue our rainy, gray, and cool weather through August (with a heat wave in late Aug).  After that it will probably be an early fall.  So pack your rain gear and mukluks, cause here in the Alps it may be a soggy affair!  We're expecting an early close for the Hochalpenstrasse.

I sent my car to Maine for a visit with Gernold to check things over before I ship the car to Europe for the big event.  Good thing I did, as my driveshaft flex disk was shredded, my brake reservoir caps were cracked and a mouse had built a nest in my air intake.  The biggest issue was the flex disk.  This would have surely failed in Europe which would have been a real problem.

I almost did not go through the extra effort to have the car checked.  I hope my "near-miss" spurs others to send their car in for a check-over before the event starts.

Looking forward to seeing everyone in September and thanks again to our organizers (Rick, Peter, and team) for putting on another amazing event.
