EPC Issues and Questions
« on: September 14, 2020, 15:41:15 »
Hello… Does anyone else use MBEPC.Net?  Well I can open the site, I get an error page on every download I try. It’s been like this for roughly the past 10 days. So I thought I’ll re-join the MB access for $75, But now they don’t have access to joining any further! Does anyone have any advice on how to access the EPC? Any comments welcome! Thank you!
Best Regards,

At one time we could access the EPC without charge. Then they began charging $75 for access. A couple of years ago I contacted MBUSA as a member. The reply was that as a MBUSA member I could still access the EPC without charge. In the meantime someone in the Pagoda Group mentioned Nemigaparts.com which I have been using for part numbers.

Between Nemigaparts and the factory parts book I've managed to get the part numbers I need. I think the EPC is probably more up to date (for sure as respects the factory parts book).

MBUSA gave me a contact, but unfortunately I no longer have that information.  I'm sure EPC has other uses that people more sophisticated than I find useful but EPC just seemed like more work than it was worth for me given the alternatives.

If you haven't checked out Nemigaparts.com I think you would find it useful. Authentic Classics also includes the MB part number in its listings. Additionally either SLS and/or Niemoller (or both) may show MB part numbers.

EPC is no longer. It is now called Xentry portal. I have a paid membership through the 190SL group. I think you buy into Xentry Portal still.

So let me get this straight… I can join the 190 group for $40 and get free access which would otherwise cost me $75. Plus I get the neat publications from the 190 group as well! Sounds like a no brainer to me! They have a great site with lots and lots of information! Wish they had something similar for the 111’s

With a $40.00 membership to the International 190 SL Group you also get a free subscription Mercedes-Benz "Classic" magazine if you are in the U.S., The "190 SL Enthusiast" Magazine, free access to the Xentry Portal system for parts information*, access to the Mercedes-Benz ClubLounge where you can browse past issues of the "Classic" magazine and more plus a Mercedes-Benz ClubCard which offers other benefits.

* Access to Xentry Portal is not instant. It may take time for approval.

I'm next to join 190SL club. Also, I just checked the Nemiga site and I am no longer getting the parts pictures there. HMMM. Had to go back to my parts book to figure out the part number for a grommet. Maybe I have to rethink Xentry through the 190SL group.  Thanks all for the information.

Lee,

After your first message above I spoke with a friend who has always had access. And I reference the site you just named and he said yes that stopped working for him as well. MBEPC.net was a good fallback for a while, as I have ordered numerous parts ever since COVID-19 started! Sometimes I just enjoy looking through it as well. The friend I just name recently purchased a 300 D Adenauer, So I went to help him look for parts as well. He’s been a tremendous help on working on my car. No regrets joining the 190 site, it’s always fun to study other models!

I joined the 190SL group because I have a Ponton coupe and they are similar to the 190SL mechanically. Same deal with W111 and the W113. Yes, it is a great group. When I joined, they did not have the membership to the Xentry Portal. That was granted last year along with the magazine subscription. I believe the 190SL group is an officially recognized organization by mother Mercedes.

There are some here on this site that have 190SL cars and belong.
