Gearbox ( transmission) mount 250sl 5 speed zf
« on: September 01, 2020, 19:34:35 »
Hello guys , I was wondering which one is the correct gearbox mount for the 5speed zf. I would like to replace the engine mounts and this mount too. Is it the same for manual and automatic ? 5 speed zf too? Could you link me the correct part please?
Thanks you in advance

ZF mount is different where it attaches to the back end of the gearbox. looks the same but the dimensions are different.

Are you referring to the rubber mount? If so, that's the same part on every car.

Just so, like DanC states.  The metal mount specific for the ZF is not available from Mercedes however.
ZF made a repro part in conjunction with the production run of the ZF S5-20 boxes (in 2011), to enable them to supply together with the new box to their customers. So, you can ask them about it. See it here on picture attached (from ZF mounting instruction 2011).

My concern was due to some discussion regarding the replacement of engine mounts and not the transmission mount. I read that if you change the engine mount and not the transmission mount , the risk is ti have the engine slightly higher and this could determine to hit the bonnet of the car. For this reason I was asking which one was the correct mount for the Zf.

The rubber mounts (2 for the engine, one for the transmission) are the same on 4-speed and 5-speed cars.
