"Reshoeing" Tranny Brake Bands - Pls Advice
« on: July 26, 2020, 21:58:40 »
Since this is not your usual DD, half ***ed jobs are not allowed period  ;D . While refurbishing the tranny off my car, brake bands were deemed dry and need to be replaced or overhauled.

For months now, been looking for replacements, well... found only a generic one made by Dexol so I grabbed it in hope to find another with no luck. Contacted Dexol worldwide to see if any branch carries another but hit a dead end. Now I am stuck with basically a new one and my OE set in need of overhaul.

Hope anyone can help here. I either need another brand new one or a company who has extensive experience refurbishing those. I stress on extensive because I will need to ship my set from overseas and reship them back... and I hate taking things apart twice because of a manufacturing defect.

Thanks in advance guys.

Hi,
have you here: https://www.niemoeller.de/de/w113/w113/B044/273/.
Sometimes it's cheaper you buy a second transmission as part dispenser.

Check with a transmission rebuilder. Sun Valley Automobile Dismantlers in Ca. used to rebuild a lot of these. Maybe they can supply you with parts?

Listed back to 1970 but your trans is no different. Should be designation 722.2.   If you scroll down under bands it has physical descriptions.
