Getrag  5 speed 265 gearbox for sale, complete with mechanical Speedo drive. This gearbox was refurbished by Allgears  of Nottingham, UK who I've used before.. Price £1650 GB pounds or nearest offer, shipping / delivery at extra cost.

Was the gearbox restored recently?
Is the gearbox suitable for a 280 engine?
And is it still for sale?

Hi Fred, sorry for the delay in responding. The box was rebuilt by Allgears, Nottingham UK and is still for sale at the advertised price( you could make me an offer!)

The Getrag gearbox is a retrofit 5 speed.  it would require a kit to fit.  Mark Bull in the UK makes these.  There are other makers but they have slipped my mind.  Very good transmission.  Much more precise than the original 4 speed.

I bought a Getrag conversion kit from mark Bull....yet to be fitted.

This guy (maybe a member) has his version which looks high quality. He sells some quirky but useful items and he's a nice guy....not surprisingly for a German chap his name is Wolfgang !!

I bought some parts from him to suppliment the kit from Mark.

I have a converted driveshaft for sale. This is suitable for this conversion.  It has been modified with the correct BMW front flange, shortened forward shaft and is fully rebuilt and balanced. If you are interested in adding it to your conversion kit.  $550.00 ships from Calif.
