Car won't start
« on: June 21, 2020, 12:53:39 »
I've just put the repaired wiring harness back into thew car and started the engine literately for a few seconds to prove that it was all working then turned the car off.  When I went to start it again a few hours later it wouldn't start - the starter motor turns over.  I don't recall touching any of the electrics in this time.
I have sparks
I have fuel flow to the FIP
Battery is good
It feels like there is no fuel getting the the cylinders.
Could it be the fuel cut off solenoid on the FIP causing this?  Is there a relay that may have stopped working governing the fuel cut off solenoid? I will try disconnecting the leads to it to see if it will then start.
I'm struggling a little on this one ...

I tried disconnecting the fuel cut off solenoid but no change.
It did however feel like there was some fuel getting to the cylinders today.
I'm going to put 12v across the solenoid and check that it moves... I'm wondering if it's stuck...
Otherwise I'm pretty much out of ideas....

Sorted
Turns out that if the accelerator linkage comes off pressing the accelerator does nothing.  :P
Clearly there is an air fuel issue (as it should do better without using tge accelerator) but I've done loads to the engine so I'm not surprised.
