I saw the email. The price is a bit much! Can the old ones be rebuilt?

I bought it from the dealer in the summer. I thought it was known it can be bought from MB...

It is longer than the one I had on the car (housing was shorter, not the travel) so I had to adjust the bracket a bit.

It is also weaker than my old one, which was a bit surprising.

I paid something like $300 for my new one around 2007.

Parts for my 1990 Ford Bronco are a fraction of the MB price as in 1/5. Pierre Hedary just released a video commenting on the often poor quality of new MB parts for pre-'72 cars.

Cees:
I will bet that it was made in China, who produces inferior parts.

No Tom, it was a MB part.
Incidentally, China also produces many high quality things. But you get what you pay for, below some level (but not so much above).
