New (old) model MB?

Can someone help me identify this Mercedes?
Seemed to be a few models ;D

These are two different ones, aren't they?
The first one looks like an older "G" model, quite a bit modified. The second one looks like an old 60s truck or bus.
I think they are both heavily modified to be used as people transporters in some 3rd world country.

Photo’s were taken from Manila.

They are called “Jeepney’s” which is kind of their form of public transport.

The locals like to do them up by throwing on a Mercedes Star and the like. Even saw a few with makeshift Rolls Royce fronts  ;D

I guess that explains why they are sideways.  Manilla is so near the equator.

Sorry All,

I sent those photos from my phone when I was in Manila - and they are truly awful.

Hopefully these are better. The one known as "REGINE" (jeepney 2) also has an MB hood ornament (Star) but it is hard to see - somewhat lost in the background.
