« on: November 18, 2019, 18:33:52 »
Having bit of a tidy up and forgot I had this spare. Came off from my pagoda years back.
1 key and all working all fine no stiffness when turning the key to lock n unlock. Condition I would say is very excellant as seen in pictures.
Asking £200 plus £7.00 postage which will be sent recorded signed for to anywhere within United kingdom.

SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD

What ??  :o ??? :P
£200 for a used gas cap??

The part is available new from any MB dealership,
current price is € 200.74 including 19% VAT or € 168.89 without, see attachment.

Maybe a bit more expensive in England or the US,
but not £200 = € 235.

That's by far more than the new one costs
while
- chrome is definitely nice but not more perfect,
- with only one key instead of two
- cork sealing ring deteriorated
- inside of the gas cap facing the filler neck is way old

I would say, it is worth € 100 - 130, but not more.
Everything more is cheeky.  >:(

That's correct.
Why not directly ask "£300" ?

He can ask for whatever he wants.  Maybe he doesn't/didn't know what it costs new from MB or that it is/was available.

Quite right Alan didt know. Its these sort of comments that let's a forum down. I will delete advert later no harm was meant in price.

There are none apparently available here in UK. After looking around it seems that ones on offer here in UK are repro and asking way more than I am asking for used original. There are few in America with high prices so to me it seems fair price to be asking.

Hi Pagoda 113,

I'm in Cheltenham/Gloucestershire and could do with a working gas cap opposed to mine which is functional but not the prettiest. My offer is £100 based on it's good secondhand condition. Let me know if you wish to sell.

Thanks,

Matt
