Prop shaft centre bearing
« on: August 30, 2019, 09:59:57 »
Help needed.
250sl California
I have started assembling my car after extensive body work.
There are two bolts which hold the prop shaft centre bearing and rubber doughnut aluminium housing.
In the tunnel there are two long slots which carry the nuts to fix this housing. One of these nuts have disappeared.
Any suggestions how to get a new nut to go into the sliding slot. Where to get this nut from.
Please help.

hello balimatharu, I needed one of these cage nuts a couple of years ago and as Naj points out, it's MB part no 110 990 0052. I ordered two (just to have an extra). The cage nuts slide into a slotted carrier on the inside of the transmission tunnel.

Bali, appears the MB part number for that cage nut has been superseded; new MB Part no. now 000 557 0080 03.

You are right. The part no. is changed. Today I went to local mb dealer and managed to order full set of nuts, bolts and washers just for 5 pounds.
Thanks to you and Naj for the help
