Exhaust tip length?
« on: August 28, 2019, 12:26:13 »
I'm going to be installing new chrome exhaust tips. What is the consensus on how they show align with the bumper?

I have read that sticking out can lead to accidental leg burns while  perfectly aligned or recessed can lead to discoloration of the paint and chrome bumper.

Thoughts?

I say sticking out past the bumper very slightly.  Here is a picture of my car showing this.  Taken in 1969 several weeks after factory delivery.

Interesting coincidence that you ask this just now. Check out the two photos in the other recent thread

Thanks for the great pictures everybody. I'm glad we all agree.  I just removed the old incorrect exhaust tips on a fellow members car.  They were welded on😩

He is trying to get his car in shape for PagodoFest 👍
