Original Dealer Number Lists for 1969-70 USA

Does anyone know of, or have, a dealer list showing dealer numbers, from 1969-70? I am trying to develop the early history on my 280SL which was manufactured in August of 1969, with Dealer Number 1836.

I have touched based with Tom Hansen, but he doesn't have anything listing dealer numbers from that era.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Roland, not quite, but i have a Mercedes Benz Authorised  dealer map,USA,
dated Dec   1966,and it has all the dealer listings and they are numbered.
but nothing like your    1836.
example it shows number (1) Birmingham-----Alabama 
                          number (242) Lacrosse-----Wisconsin
Massachusetts has 12 citys with numbers from 86.
