For Sale: Window crank inserts in colors
« on: August 10, 2019, 16:20:07 »
I mentioned that I had these in someone else's thread and a couple of people reached out to me so I figured I would post this in the for sale area...

Padded crank inserts in colors.

There is an early style and a late style. The early style is for window cranks held in by a screw. The late style is for window cranks held in by a keyhole on the padded crank insert itself.

$20 each plus postage

Probably but I have no idea what color cariar is.  It looks the same as black to me, which I have.

Can someone tell me what color Caviar is?  I have something that is almost black but with a little tiny bit of grey in it.  Is that Caviar?
thanks

It sounds like you have caviar.  I think 66nblue sold some caviar seat covers a couple of years ago on this forum.  There was a picture. Maybe he can post it again.

I found this description in a past post.

The early interior style materials (carpet, vinyl = MB Tex) were replaced in late 1967 with the then new 280 SL material choice.
The older material, e.g. the old style deep-dark-grey "caviar" (code 116) was among these replaced materials. They're NLA.

Hi Scoot,

It is dark almost like black but when you see it side by side with black you can see the difference clearly. The caviar has a more blueish tone to it..or blueish grey others would say. Definitely not pure black,
If you have these for an early model (1965) I am interested.
Regards
Pedro

Hi Pedro,

Here's a pic.  Left one is dark blue.  Next two are both sort of a dark blue/black, 4th one is dark grey, 5th one is black.  Do any of these look like Caviar?

Hi Antonio,

I have two that look like dark red to me.  I don't know if the actual color is named Bordeaux  though.  Attached is a picture.  They look darker than the picture in real life.
