What is this threaded hole for?
« on: July 31, 2019, 10:54:34 »
Hi guys,

I am in the process of stripping my car in prep for a repaint. I noticed a threaded hole just behind each seat, right under the chromate plates behind the doors. (see pic).
What are these holes for? I hope they are for seat belts which I plan to install?

Thanks, gentlemen!

Jan

Correct.  They are for the seat belt bracket.

This threaded hole is used for the shoulder part of the belt.  There should be another threaded hole behind each seat for terminating the belt

Thanks Jeff... I did not know that. I did not realize that in those days our cars were already prepared for belts. Should there not be 3 holes per seat?

best regards,

Jan

Bizarrely, I have come across cars that had this threaded insert but not the ones in the transmission tunnel or the sill. (Or was it the other way around? I forget).

Hi,
here is my one-hole-automatic-seat-belt-covering.  I placed the reel behind the covering.

Thanks WR, This could be very interesting for when I will install mine. Do you also have pics of the other attachments, please?

Thanks a lot!

Hi Jan,
I made it as described here: https://www.pagodentreff.de/diskussionsforum/threads/montage-automatikgurte.2237/
but the mounting bracket not welded but bolted (via a seperat hole) with the attachments that came with the seat belt.
Some other useful pictures see here: https://www.pagodentreff.de/diskussionsforum/threads/nachr%C3%BCstung-3-punkt-gurte.9811/#post-67398.
