Errata from my reconditioning '67 230SL automatic
« on: April 30, 2019, 17:06:07 »
While upgrading/rebuilding my ignition, the coil has a large capacitor attached and I was curious about it's functionality and possible replacement.  it's marked BERU SK 213/2   3uF 110V MAX 80c

I can't find a replacement but here's what I found on a Porsche board:

This is a capacitor for radio suppression, 3 microfarads (uF) , and is attached to the ignition coil to #15 terminal. The bracket is grounded to the coil clamp. Bosch number for this capacitor was EMKO 9Z 17Z .

Other suppression devices, supplied in Blaupunkt radio installation kits were:

Special connector for the center wire (to the coil) in the distributor cap.
A 2,5 uF capacitor for voltage regulator, terminal #B+ .
A 0,5 uF capacitor for volt reg term D+ / 61 .
And same capacitor for generator term D+ .
