Window Guide Clip Washer Thickness
« on: April 04, 2019, 20:06:05 »
I was going to just replace my window felt strips but of course as soon as I removed the door panel it was obvious that the guides had come loose - the front was on the bottom of the door and the rear was not much better. I have ordered new parts but I think that guide clips I will get from Bud's don't come with washers or o-rings. I ordered a hundred 5mm id nylon washers from McMaster-Carr and those seem like they will work fine, but they are only 1mm thick. Does anyone have one of the red ones laying around you can measure, or if you have recently done the job does that thickness sound about right? It appears that the clip is about .5 - 1mm exposed now so the guide will run on plastic on both sides of the channel. I also read a thread where they used o-rings but even the smallest metric o-ring I have to stretch over the peg seems a bit thick.  Any suggestions?
