FYI, One thing you have to specify is if it is for a wood or leather covered instrument binnacle. The wood binnacle version (250SE and earlier) is lightly longer by about a 1/4". Looks like it might be for the earlier wood binnacle.

I converted my 280SE to the wood and had to replace both sides on the upper dash.

Great, I am glad you commented on it - thank you. I would not know what setup it was, as I received it in a bulk purchase. Do you have a measurement (from/to) so I could measure/post it?

I have my original leather binnacle upper dash pad in a box. I'll get it down and see what I can come up with. The difference is simply that the dash pad for the wood slides INTO the binnacle by about a 1/4". The leather one simply butts up to the binnacle and therefore is shorter. Probably the easiest way to determine is the width of the bridge between the speaker opening and the binnacle opening.

Another way to tell on an old piece is to look at the end of the pad where it mates to the binnacle. If the last 1/4" is tapered as if pushed into a recess, than it is the wood variety. The leather variety would not have this since it is a butt fit. I think I saw a taper on yours.

I'll check it tonight.

Yes, tapered it is. So, the dash top is for earlier vehicles (220SEb, 250SEb) Coupe and Cabrio.
