License Plate Lights

 Just need some advise to understand if the raised rubber part goes in towards the lamp or outward against the body when mounting. Thanks very much.... John

On my 280 SL the raised rubber part goes down, against the body. Also the raised rubber piece faces outward.

It is there to avoid any direct glare from the lens and bulb to be visible from behind the car
