Luggage strap(belt)
« on: March 20, 2016, 17:41:56 »
I am trying to figure out the correct way the original luggage strap was meant to be placed in the trunk of our Pagodas. There have been a few posts here in the past on this topic. Most have addressed the measurements of the original. Ollie Dare makes a replica of this belt (originals were black or brown) with stitching along edges at original measurements. What I am addressing is which way do you insert the belt in the trunk. Buckle portion attached to the rear bulkhead, with the tongue w/holes portion attached to the bulkhead between driver and trunk? OR is it the other way around? There are a couple of member car photos showing belt inserted in either way.  Anyone seen any old photos of Pagoda with luggage in trunk?  Surely Daimler-Benz had an instruction with the option accessory code number 297 (strap and mounting material in tail).
Thanks,
Bob

Perhaps mine is just one of the straps you've seen already, but here's the way mine is mounted...
