Oil Pressure Line - Screw Fitting Leak

I was changing the oil on my 230/M127 today and I noticed an oil leak where the oil pressure line screw fitting (MB 180 184 01 17) meets the top of the oil filter housing. None of the illustrations I've seen show any washer or seal between the screw fitting and the oil filter housing. Seems it would at least have a washer or some form of spacer to prevent a leak at this point.
Anyone in the group had a problem with this fitting leaking?

Nope, no washer on mine either. Since your threading steel to aluminum, technically you would not need one. I suppose you could add one if your having trouble getting it to seal.
Check for a leak on the crimp where the rubber part of the hose is. If it leaks there it will pool below on the fitting and make you think the leak is there.

From the attached, this looks like the same fitting that the long oil filter bowl bolt threads into. If so, it has no seal ring. In fact according to the BBB, you are not supposed to take it off. It is factory "glued" in with possibly an epoxy. The reason being is that it cannot ever turn, otherwise you cannot remove the bowl bolt from below. So they glued it in permanently.

I have thrown caution into the wind and have removed these and I use a epoxy putty to reseal. I take a small amount of putty and roll it into an "earthworm" shape, and then finally into a doughnut. This goes on the bolt under the head. Then torque it like you would any other fitting quickly before the epoxy hardens. No leaks.

yes, the filter bowl bolt threads into this fitting and I can understand why it needs to remain stationary once tightened, but I never knew it was at one time epoxied. For now, I placed an aluminum washer under the fitting and carefully tightened it.  If it continues to leak I'll try the epoxy. Any recommendations on brand of epoxy putty? Thanks, Charles

I am not sure what they used back then, but there was some sealant below the head that I had the chip off. I used PC7 epoxy putty. http://www.pcepoxy.com/our-products/putty-epoxies/pc-metal.php Just don't go crazy with this stuff and be conservative. You just want to lock and seal the fitting.
