thinking of buying a 250SL, Need your thoughts

Hello, my name is Donny. i stumbled upon a 67 250sl today. i am interested in purchasing it but not sure if i know enough about the car it self.

the main reason is for investment purposes. i figured i would buy it, enjoy it and in a few years sell it for a profit.

im not sure if this model from mercedes will be that car. im hoping it would because its beautiful white with tobacco brown interior with a manual gear box,  body is pretty solid and stright with the interior being done around 4 years ago and barley showing age since the restore.

i would say its a 6.5 - 7

this car that i am looking at is a euro model. im not sure if that makes the price increase or decrease, but thats what it is. the car was purchased by its 2'nd owner in 77 and have owned it since.

im not sure if the value would increase next year as it will be it's 50'th year anniversary.

i can buy the car for $19,000 I'm not sure if its worth it or not.

Look carefully and closely. You may want to see if Tom Collitt (sp?) can take a look. It has been said many times, and I will repeat, there is no such thing as a cheap Pagoda. If you can post some pictures it would help.

It has been said before and it is worth saying again and again ...

"Purchase the best you can afford and go on from there"

Unless you have the time and the cash don't do anything else would be my recommendation.

Some shall die so that others may live.

It is all possible the car is in good shape and that the owner either wants it liquidated for some reason or just doesn't know the current market. We dont know.
I dont know if any of you have watched the TV show "Pawn Stars".. On more than one occasion someone has walked in with something to sell expecting a certain price only to find out its worth 10 times that amount. Deals are out there but very hard to find. Its almost down to luck.
