Vintage Look Bluetooth Speakers
« on: December 29, 2015, 19:48:02 »
I have been on the lookout for a large Bluetooth portable speaker for my 280SL that would not clash with the classic styling of the pagoda.
I found the House of Marley – Get Together.  Besides the strange name it is a good looking and good sound speaker system for the car.  The front of the Get Together is a solid bamboo that looks similar to the wood trim in the pagoda.  The box weighs 6 lbs / 2.7 kg and is covered in a cloth material that will keep it from sliding around on the back bench.  The battery will last up to 8 hours and it has 16 Watts coming out of 4 drivers.
Best part is it sounds great, even at 65mph/100kph with the windows open.
The price is not bad at $200 (US) list, you can get one for around $170.

I know quite a few people who recommend the Minirigs unit(s). And the Bose ones

An increasing number of options ford decent sound without cutting and wires

I really like the round body speakers.  They fit nicely into cup holders.  But when they sit in the back bench they tend to roll around.
