Has anyone used this pump ? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mercedes-Benz-Fuel-Pump-230SL-250SL-280SL-220SE-250SE-280SE-0010915201A-New-/251731845122?hash=item3a9c632002:g:yUcAAOSwaNBUc-Oh&vxp=mtr  . I'm in need of a pump but the classic center has them on back order and it might be months .

The Carter Electric Fuel Pump #GP4601 HP will work just fine usually $100.00 or less. It's not original but a good substitute to use as temporary or permanent. Specs are nearly the same as the originals and is a similar design (rotary style, gravity feed, high volume etc.) price is right. It will certainly keep you motoring while your original is being re-built!

Hi,
the Pierburg E1F (7.21440.78.0) is also very good substitute with a reasonable price (~ 80 €: http://www.amazon.de/Pierburg-7-21440-78-0-Kraftstoffpumpe/dp/B0068N14TE).
Information and specs see here http://www.ruddies-berlin.de/index2.html or attachment.

That is a $110 Holley red or Blue pump with a fancy bracket.  I'd have to see specs on the Bosch pump to tell you which one.

We've had a couple of cars with Holley electric fuel pumps on and they are incredibly noisy. One was a 502 cubic inch big block Corvette with side pipes and you could still hear the fuel pump over the engine at idle!

Absolutely awful things.

Now that you mention it a friend has one installed in a 1966 Hemi Coronet.  It just screams.
