Mike, when this happens to me I sleep in the car :)

Dieter

PS. I always try to stay in B&Bs (Bed and Breakfast as we say here or Zimmer Frei in Germany outside city limits). I somehow feel it keeps the car safer then in a hotel parking lot.

Jonny B and I are leaving on Wednesday morning. We team up with Brian and his sister and together we are headed to the Black Forest. I have already booked a hotel.
Paul and Rick, maybe we could meet you along the way. If not on Wednesday, maybe on Thursday.

Jon keeps saying to me: I can hardly wait. Same counts for me.

See you all soon!

Drove around 500 Kim's today. Over the Autobahn to Koblenz, then on small roads (the B9, 48, 37 and 39 to Neustadt an der Weinstraße, Germany). Had a great meal. Tomorrow we drive to Längenfeld in the Ötztal, Austria. There we meet up with John and Lia to take the Timmelsjoch pass to Meran.

Safe travels everyone!

Neil- You know how to treat the lady

Peter- who is watching the road :o

We are still trying to decide if we fly to Innsbruck or Verona and if we get a taxi from there or organise the car collection from one of those airports or have a beer on the plane ;)- We had time constraints!

Safe journey all and see you at the hotel.

Peter also appears to be wearing a mantle clock on his wrist, or a giant watch.

I'm gutted I can't be there. First Euro one I've missed... :-[

(That said I won't miss having to carry Andy and Damo aka The Lightweight Twins around the bars and clubs of Europe).

Peter your Pagoda must be supercharged and have fins as well to be sea worthy (like the one in the 007 film). LOL get the next moon ship and get back on schedule to arrive at the hotel in time :) no pun intended.

Hi James,

I think the watch may need a new crystal looks a bit faded to me (might just be the photo angle), what do you think? Hmmmm lets see what can be done about that. Anyone on the trip that can disassemble and reassemble the watch Hmmm ... Then he might not need it bet his Pagoda dash clock works just fine.

Is anyone other than Lucy really worried that Kemal is not only NOT looking at the road but is driving with his eyes closed?

The watch is an old, faded Swatch.

Today we drove to Längenfeld, Austria. We started off on the Autobahn from Neustadt to Stuttgart on the A8, then took the smaller roads via Bad Urach, Biberach to Memmingen and then to border at Fussen.  Lots of delays at the Fernpaß. On to our hotel in Längenfeld, where we met up with John and Lia Dreu. Tomorrow we take the Timmelsjoch pass on to Meran.

The car is doing very well after it's been hardly used for over a year. 500kms without a hitch yesterday, and again today. Speeds of up to 140 km/h on the Autobahn, pulling strongly in the mountains, braking sharply on descents, and surviving start and stop traffic.

Checked the oil and coolant tonight, all looking good so far.
