If originality is not an issue, there are a few manufacturers who make universal fit 3 point belt sets for convertibles.  My '68 was not originally equipped with them and the ones I installed were made by Wesco.  That was 2003 and they're still working flawlessly.  I had to have a luggage shop shorten the tab side of the belt because the attachment point is so high on the center tunnel.

I purchased a pair of the Kangol Belts from the EBay seller and they are new and very nice. Highly recommended.

I used RetroSound 3-pt retractable belts and they work great, I only had to build a bracket using L-iron to extend the tunnel side forward so the receiver would fit closer to my hand without reaching back too far. Seeing this thread I would opt for the Kangol today as that was what my original lap belts were and they look a bit better in these cars.

Did you have to do any modifications to the kangol belts? How long did it take to ship them to you? Thanks much for your reply.

the best seat belts I could think of for my car are the original Kangol 3 point retractable belts. These belts have the old style look while they provide the comfort and safety of modern belts.

This source is an old new military stock from UK. Not cheap, but the experience is worth it.

How hard is it to remove / install - I remember fumbling with these years ago, and couldn't figure out how to remove the existing kangol fixed seat belts.

Thanks!

My OEM Kangols had a clip type mount that attached to a loop formed onto the end of the retaining bolt. I simply unscrewed those bolts and fitted new bolts that the kit came with as they are the same size threads as standard seat belt bracket bolts. The new bolts pass through the hole in the metal end piece of the seatbelts. Long story short, simply unbolt your old ones and rebolt in new using brand new hardware, you should avoid reusing fasteners on safety related items. The rear seat will need to lift out to do those but the front seats you can leave in place and lift carpets to access your mounting plates or holes.
