Star Shaped Clip strip fitting
« on: October 15, 2013, 05:48:01 »
Gentlemen,
I feel a bit of a fool asking, but can someone tell me how to fit or correctly use the star shaped clasps that hold the weather-strips against the A pillar and other areas around the windows? I understand they must be slid up the channel along with the weather strips itself,  but there are two per weather strip and there must be a trick to getting them to lock correctly into the little dimples provided in the channel.
The part number is A1139880278 Clip strip, seal/rail

Many thanks
jeff

They are not pushed up the chrome strip channel as an assembly, you place the clips in the holes provided ( I hold them in place with a dab of glue ) you then place the rubber in its correct position, push the inside rubber edge into the chrome, then use a plastic or wooden spatula to push the rubber into position, there is no need to lubricate the rubber as the rubber already has a wax covering.

Thanks Eric
That was exactly the hint I was looking for.
Makes perfect sense.
Thanks
