Passed another milestone
« on: August 26, 2012, 21:28:32 »
Yesterday, we joined our local MBCA group for a tour of the wine country of Amador County's Shenandoah Valley. Our 280SL was by far the oldest car in the group but it was a nice ride anyway. It did get a bit warm (95) towards the end of the journey so we had to put the soft top up and without A/C, we were glad to pull into the garage after our 90 mile journey. We crossed the 3000 mile mark since the car was brought back to road worthy condition back in Sept '10 on this trip as well. The car continues to run flawlessly and am looking forward to many more pleasurable miles ahead. BTW, one of the newer MB's broke down on this trip. They don't make 'em like they used to ;)

Great comment, and they don't build them like they used to. But remember that is a saw that cuts both ways. As much as I like the Pagoda (and I DO like them) the new cars are significantly safer. Maybe not as much fun, but safer.
