Help on understanding door lock mechanism on 1971
« on: June 26, 2012, 17:23:46 »
I have the door locks later style that are shaped like u's. So I am still working on getting my doors to lock from outside.... when door is in lock position the end of the lock is shaped like a u and there is another u shaped on the lock so when in the lock position are these two u shaped parallel to each other and when unlocked do the run perpendicular ?  PLEASE SEE CRUDE DRAWING... sorry just trying to understand how it works.

OK so I have now become a expert on the locks and mechanism.. on the 1970/1971 if the door is locked the button will push in but not open the door, but on the 1963-1969 if it is locked the button will not go in.
