A Pillar Seal

I'm now getting round to fitting a new set of A pillar seals part A113 725 17 66 but they are slightly different to the current ones in that one end is open and the other closed. Whilst I know which side is the inner I'm not sure which end is up as they are not handed, can anyone help.

If these are the door/screen seals (rather than door/wing)....mine were too long - I had to cut them to length (and shorter than you'd think so the door shuts properly)  but I think you're find that the taller bit as you look at the cross section goes in-board so the glass sits up against it

I can take a awful photo if you'd like.... ;D

The seal I purchased from MB classic a few months ago was open on both ends. It was beveled on one end to match the angle at the intersection of the HT seal. I just had to install one (left hand side) so I had to make my trim on bottom of the seal. fabric surface is facing out as well.

PS Congratulations to your Queen on her 60th anniversary. I remember as a small child watching her coronation on TV back in '52.  A kinescope was made and flown across the Atlantic in a F-104 star fighter so we had "same day" coverage of the event. it was a big deal for us over here in the colonies:-)

Thanks guys, I think I’ll remove the filling at the ends as it makes the rubbers very stiff at that point so I think it’s a manufacturing mistake.

I missed the original coronation by a couple of years but those old news reels are great. Seeing the old boats for this celebration was great although they should have matched the motor transport as modern Bentleys just didn’t seem right. Still a fantastic show though, despite the rain.

I purchased new seals a few years ago from MB Classic Center.  They came, as well, with one end filled.  I also had to cut the seal to proper length.  However I left the filled end at the top of pillar, so when you are with top down, you will not see a cavity in the seal.  It just looks finished that way ( filled in).
