It still functions as always.
I don't believe we ever had a fully automatic, self correcting checker, just a red underlining of misspelled words as shown in the screen shot.

I was just wondering the same thing as Eric. I used it all of the time. Seems like it disappeared about a week or two ago.

I noticed it a week or so ago.  I use it all the time and try not to look illiterate while typing a quick responce.  I hpoe I spelled everything correctly.

Some browsers provide spell checking... that is when you see the red squiggly lines under words you type.

Chrome does it, Firefox also. There's a plug-in available for Internet Explorer (http://www.iespell.com). Safari also supports it but it must be switched on (Edit / Spelling and Grammar -> Check Spelling as you type). It does not remember this setting between sessions, AFAIK.

The observant are right. We used to have server-based spell check (with the spell check link), but lost it a while back when I upgraded some server software. I didn't bother going through the motions trying to get it back given that most people can use one of the above solutions.

Or, just be more careful when you type and read it before you hit "post".  :)

LOL  ;D That only works if you can spell in the first place, so checking before you post will help but not for everyone - some will always spell certain words incorrectly. It also won't work for those with dyslexia ( I had to look up how to spell that one ) or other such condidtions. Anyone who's mother tounge isn't English also struggles with the spelling of many words. It's as common as a quart of milk. Just ask Al Gore.  ;)

The spell checker doesn't work on my computer and I don't know why. I've had it looked at but it still doesn't work so I'm going to, '' sphele wrung luts ''.
