help with bulb type 1967 250sl
« on: April 06, 2011, 23:06:44 »
mercedes dealer or parts store cannot find my bulb. 250sl-it's the very large bulb below the headlight. The bulb says osram 7309 and also has a number k5304-35w 12 volt. does anyone have a supplier that has these. We have to have it. When you take the plastic cover off of the headlight door, it is the large round bulb with a deflector in front of it

You can try www.topbulb.com They did not have a listing for the bulb numbers you listed, but they do have a call in number where they can help with a search.

Hey Rmm, I got my last ones from Ray Paul (no longer SL Classics but with Bud's again maybe) several years back. I'd try them. On my Euro these are the fog lamps. Your information is correct, they are 12V 35W BA 20s

The brand they sold me is Flosser (umlaut over O) 3329.
Good luck

There used to be some really good stuff - and links - to bulbs on Dorian's old site (there's a blast from the past)

And I note that chunks of it are now in the tech manual...

i found some made by a company called JAHN---------------I looked it up. It's a german bulb company. I hope they are good-they were $6.80 each plus shipping , which cost more than  the bulb. I'm just glad I found them

Wow!
Maryland Metrics still lists a FLÖSSER 3329 = Osram 7309 for $1.97:

among the bulbs discussed here and in the pages of the Technical Manual, I get confused about which is which... could someone tell me which bulbs are lit in the accompanying picture? Does it appear yellow because the bulb is yellow or because there is a yellow lens portion? Or perhaps the picture illustrates some custom arrangement of the wiring. I don't know which Pagoda model it is, other than that it's obviously the Euro-spec... I think I just found this picture on a website, not in our Technical Manual.

Peter,

The model does not matter, but rather if the car is Euro or US spec.
From the photo you posted, it looks like the fog lamps are lit (bottom section) as well as the parking lights (faint glow in the main reflector).

The lenses are not yellow, but the colour of the bulbs give the yellow tinge.

Hi, pj,

This one is in the Tech Manual under headlights.
This pic s for a RHD car. On LHD cars, the parking/side light bulb is below the main/dip bulb.

The yellow bulb in your picture is probably from a French market car. Very hard to find those yellow bulbs these days.
