Three Stray Grounds
« on: March 05, 2011, 21:05:27 »
I am doing dash wiring stuff on my 280SL.  i secured the two main bunches of ground with an M6 bolt to the vertical support to the right of the speedo hole.  But i have three grounds with terminals too small to fit the bolt, and I am wondering where they get connected.

Thanks,
Chuck Taylor

Chuck,
those could be the ground wires that connect to the instruments - under the knurled knobs?
But I believe that only two of the center instruments are grounded. Is one ground wire coming from the light in the shifter console or do all three go back to the harness?

Thanks.

One goes into the main ground bundle, one to the ignition switch bundle, and one to the light switch bundle.

Hello Chuck,

I think that main ground lug could have some of those other grounds attached to it also. If you like I can look up under Alfred's dash in the morning.
