1971 280sl fuel Pump
« on: October 01, 2010, 18:24:48 »
I have a fuel pump that leaks when it is turned on after the car sits for a number of days (I assume seals dry out) and once you start it up, it real seals after a number of hours.

Kind of tired of it.

Anybody have one in good working condition available for sale, or some other suggestions

thanks, Andy

Just make sure that it is indeed the pump that is leaking and not one of the fuel lines/hoses going to the pump.

I seem to recall rebuild kits for those pumps being available. Try searching the board.

I purchased a rebuilt fuel pump from Star Motors in NY three years ago and with no issues to date. They do include a warranty. They specialize in the big benz's but the fuel pumps are the same.
