Heater core deflection plate
« on: March 31, 2010, 04:01:46 »
I'm working on my very old heater core ....
Do you know if the heater core has a deflection plate on each side or only one of the side (cabin side ?)
My heater core is missing these plate, can I just put back a regular piece of flat metal ?
Where could I source these heater plates ?

The pictures in the wiki section only show and speak about "one plate"

Thanks for your help

There is only one deflection/cover plate as shown here: http://www.sl113.org/wiki/uploads/Electrical/Heater_Core_1.jpg
and I believe the plate alone is not available, only the complete core.
A good radiator shop should be able to make a plate and weld/solder it back on.
