Window Brush
« on: January 24, 2010, 14:49:19 »
The window brushes on Gary Tyer's car are very warn.  I check with MB and the price is about $50 per meter and each window takes two meters.  Has anyone found a substitute?

SLS sells a repro version for 12 euros per meter. Slightly thinner than the original one. SLS Part # 372500

Worn in what way?  Faded out or the velvet hairs worn away?

In my experience, the rubber profiles that surround the windows can make a huge difference in wind noise. So if yours are worn, dried out or cracked, it may well be worth the small investment to replace them with new.

The sealing rails (or felt strips if you wish) are MB 115 725 09 65. That part number gets you a piece about 2.2 meters in length. In otherwords, plenty to do one door on a pagoda. The current list is $62.00, my price $45.53. OK, it's not cheap but it's really not that bad. One of wholesalers also sells the stuff but they sell "Mercedes original" so I suspect a perfect aftermarket substitute does not exist.
