Inexpensive keys
« on: July 16, 2009, 09:00:20 »
Hi:

After going through the painful process of finding inexpensive keys (less than $10/key) for my car, I've decided to embark on the task of finding the sources of keys for all the Pagodas.  I need some help on this.  What I need is the serial number/model and the key prefixes and what the key is used for.  I don't need the actual key number.

For example the key prefixes on my care are:

"D" = Ignition
"KA" = Trunk/glove box
"TV" = Door/gas

If you have some key code like "XY6 12345", I'd need the "XY6"

Thank you

Have a look in the wiki:

http://www.sl113.org/wiki/Interior/Locks

Under Key Blanks.

The 6 'Ymos' keys are the different profiles for the one sided keys for doors, glove box, trunk, gas cap etc.
NE8 is the (bottom of page) Neiman ignition key blank for the 230 SL (and early 250SL?)
The HUF-Ymos keys are used in the (later 250 SL?) and 280SLs, however I believe only two of the profiles are used.
