Do-it-yourself Installing Leathers topic at Blacklick
«

I completed the installation of leather interior on my SL this past summer. Showed car twice after installation and won 1st in class and a third in class. I did all the installation myself with leather furnished by GAHH. I would be willing/glad to give a talk with photos on the do's and don'ts of interior installation at this summer's Blacklick gathering. Who do I need to contact?
Thanks,
Bob

Bob,
Sounds GREAT! PUB has always been a bit loose, but as the event matures it gets better. A presentation like this would be well received and I'm sure Joe A. has already read this. I have GAHH, too, and would love to hear your experiences with actually installing it.

Did you also recover the dash pieces with new leather? I had mine recovered so it would me nice to know how it was done. I did the convertible top cover myself but that is a lot easier. I still need to do the hard top below the window. I sure hope I can make it to Ohio again this year!

Bruce,
Yes I did do the dash board and knee pads too. That was the "fun" part, cutting out hide and stretching at door endings. Yes, I also did the soft top last year. This winter's project is new carpeting.
Joe,
I will e-mail you.
Thanks,
Bob
