Does this need a gasket or gasket maker?

Getting ready to finish the rear axel and do I need a gasket or gasket maker for the bracket for the drive shaft receiver?

I use a sealer like Permatex gray  on that area. I noticed that your axle boot isn't installed correctly. The split should be parallel with the floor so that it's not under any tension when the axle tubes are fully extended.
