Trying to get my '69 280 SL ready for road inspection. The reverse lights do not come on. Further inspection reveals that the neutral safety switch is inoperative as the car starts in any gear. I read that these two switches are somehow related. Anyone have any insight into repair, replacement or adjustment?

Itís really easy to install. You can get a new switch direct from Mercedes for about $35 -$40. Itís located on the firewall. Pop on the new cable and with a little adjustment you will never start your car in drive again.
