Precisions about the colors: tan VS brown
Some members ask about "light brown", "cognac", etc....
i can make the 2 brown colors showed on the photo below, + of course black and blue !
1 is tan
2 is dark brown

This sale of seat frame plugs is hidden under the luggage strap discussion.  I have my luggage strap and stopped watching the thread.

Did anyone in the USA buy these plugs in bulk to redistribute?

Got the strap this week.  Very nice, but I had to modify it to fit.  The full width of the leather came right up to the mounting post.  I needed to cut it back to fit into my receivers in the car.  Not sure if my car, 1967 250 SL early, is different than other pagodas but there was no way it was going in with the indents.  I had some black dye to color the cut edges.

John, when I received mine, I thought I would have to do the same, but managed to clip them in with a bit of jiggling around

I am sorry about those problems….!
May be the bracket is slightly different?
The dimensions have been calculated as the strap can’t leave it’s location when untighted…!

You can see in my picture of the receiver for the strap above the indentations that the strap needs to clear to clip into the receiver.  That's why I needed to trim away a bit. As Andrew pointed out, I probably could have fought with it, but I don't think that's what MB had in mind.  The receiver is spring metal, so the strap mounting "barbell" clips in place once the leather clears the opening.  It remains in place even if the two pieces are laying unattached.  Again, by design, if it fell out that would be frustrating trying to strap in your luggage.  However, the straps should be easily installed and uninstalled as desired by the user, and mine are now.  All that said, the straps are VERY nicely made and fill a want of Pagoda owners.  Unscrewing and sliding out the barbell makes the modification easy.
