Firewall Rubber
« on: March 20, 2023, 12:42:26 »
Good morning.  I wonder if thee is a complete list of the various rubber plugs that seal penetrations through the firewall?  A list with photos and/or description would be very helpful.

Thanks,
Harry

Harry,
Some suppliers will have a kit (as 1 part number) to sell for all these needs.  I would suggest finding a few kits for sale and comparing contents (based on vendor details, no on buying multiple kits!).

WRe,
What's labeled on the diagram at the bottom of that page, there are two holes down low labeled as "Plugs".  Aren't those the outlet drain hoses for the heater box?  Or the air inlet box?  You know, the hose with the little bulb on the end?  (Struggling to find a pic in our forums.)

Hi Rodd,
these openings are only sealed with rubber plugs.
For the "rubber balls" see here: https://www.sl113.org/forums/index.php?topic=6092.msg37794#msg37794

Hey Harry,

Vintage Euro Auto in California sell a complete firewall grommet set for W113 for $85.00.
I was looking for the same thing yesterday for my car.

Good luck,

It's probably best not to post material from the Tech Manual as that is for Full Members.  Using the link is the best, so as people gain or lose Full Membership status, they gain or lose access.
