Routing of Fuel pump wire. From pump to firewall.
« on: March 14, 2024, 19:05:38 »
I'm amid correcting a wiring dilemma and the fuel pump pos(+) wire was incorrectly routed.
According to the wiring diagram, it goes to fuse #4. Simple enough.
However, the issue I'm having is properly routing it up the firewall to where it enters the vehicle.
The car is a 1965 220SE, but it has been swapped with a 220Sb engine.

Thank you, in advance for any help.

As you mention, electric fuel pump at the rear of the car (below the trunk) is fed through the fuse no.4.

The electrical system on a w111 as on w113 is divided in two major wiring harnesses.  The main one is behind the dashboard and passes through the firewall to the engine bay.   This main harness which has the fuse box on it, connects to the rear harness through a 12 pin female connector at drivers side footwell.

So answering your question, inside the main harness is a short length cable going from fuse no.4 to that 12 pin female connector.    Then the rear harness connects in that place and brings power to the electric fuel pump at the rear of the car.
