What do you do with the strip that covers the center between the two halves? Is it still available new?

If you are talking about the strip between the two front bumper halves, yes, it is still available.

Not cheap but what is on these cars?  About $125 to $130 from MB in the USA.  Around $100 from European sources.

Got one for my car a couple of years ago.

Hi, sorry for digging up an old thread, but does anyone have a link to this Mercedes Classic Center that is spoken of?

The grille on my car I’ve recently purchased is definitely not original as the fit is terrible.

Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Mercedes has several Classic Centers around the world. The one most referred to on these forums is in Irvine, California. Ask for Tom Hansen. What I have learned when ordering parts from Mercedes is research your part number. I usually find several sources (often Mercedes dealerships) showing the part at a discounted price between 25 and 30% off of list. I give that price to the Classic Center and they match it.

I had my bumpers re-chromed many years ago and remember them telling DO NOT use any metal polish on the chrome (show) but simply use wax as you do on your car

Hi Frank,

Thanks for the info.

When a guy here has a beaten up second hand grille for sale online and is asking $4000, I’m obviously searching for alternatives.

Not sure which parts exactly you need, but I see in the EPC

Complete grille A 113 880 00 23 about $4000
Frame A 113 888 02 22 about $ 2000
