Wiring harness rebuild by Leonardo Peterssen

Not sure if this is the right place for a review, but here goes!

I'm happy to say that my wiring harness is heading back to me from Venezuela, and this whole operation really exceeded my expectations, which were already a little high considering the quality of Leonardo's work I've seen on our forum and elsewhere. What prompted this was a desire to improve the cold start logic, wiring to the alternator, add a killswitch (at Leonardo's suggestion), and a few other things.

Leonardo was very helpful in helping me disconnect some of the tricky connections under the dash, specifically the ignition. He also arranged very affordable and fast shipping from my home in Florida to Venezuela. I think it was like $120 or so when UPS, DHL, etc. quoted several hundred. We were expecting at least ten days or so for it to get door-to-door, but it arrived way ahead of schedule. Leonardo set right to work, which you can see in the attached album: https://www.icloud.com/sharedalbum/#B2OGRy9thGdvEKN Turnaround was a week since he wasn't working on any other full harnesses at the time, and Leonardo was very forthcoming with progress photos each morning thoroughly showcasing with explanations everything that was happening. Such conscientiousness is rare.

The final product is the last photo, which has since been sent back to me. Can't wait to reinstall it. The total, shipped back to me, was $2850, which considering the quality components used and the immense amount of work this takes, I feel this is money well-spent.

Dear Jack

Many thanks for the review and positive feedback.  Your harness was a very rare example of a car with a good electrical life.  It had some previous work, but done by professionals with care. I didn’t find cuts or splices anywhere and all the Bakelite's connectors where in impressive good shape.

That shows the outstanding build quality of a Mercedes and the longstanding of its components if always treated with care and knowledge.

I found,  only, the known problems in the main feed T30 line with its cotton/resin insulation, with minimal deterioration on your case, and of course the totally damaged T50 starter signaling wire with its fully softened external insolation jackets

I did my best quality and conscious work to bring to your car a top wiring harness that will perform without strange gremlins for many many years.

Best regards
