Please help diagnose my starter problem - short video
« on: July 07, 2017, 01:05:13 »
Hi, I'm trying to sort out a few things on my 67 250SL.  A new problem has appeared - when I try to start the car when it's hot after cranking some the starter seems to disengage but the motor keeps whirling.  Is my solenoid bad?  Or am I missing a tooth on the ring gear?

thanks,
Scott

I'd guess it's the solenoid rather than the ring gear.
