Heater Blower dismount
« on: September 24, 2014, 01:05:03 »
HI All,
Tried to find on the site how do I dismount the heater blower from my 230sl. I want to redo the motor and could not take a part.
Any help or tips are appreciated.
Thanks,
Caio

If the blower motor is the same as for the 280.

1. Remove end plastic end caps ducts.

2. Look inside the vanes on he blower and you will see 2 small allen screws. With a long shaft metric allen wrench loosen them

3. Now you should be able to remove the blower wheels. [ I would lube the shaft on both the inside and outside of the wheels for several days so they slide off easier. [Be VERY careful not to damaged the blower wheels.]

4. The motor is attached to the housing by nuts on the blower motor, remove and you should be able to slip out then motor.

 :D Ron,
Thank you for your explanation. It did work perfect. It was kind of easy to take the wheels out. I'll send the motor to be checked before comes back to the car.
Best regards,
