how do I clean old carpet out of chrome sill pieces?
« on: August 21, 2013, 07:08:05 »
I have pulled out my old carpet  ready to install the new one. Most of the olf carpet came out fairly easily, but unfortunately the old carpet has been glued into the slots along the chrome sill pieces and i am finding it very hard to get out without distorting the chrome sill pieces. Has anyone perfected and easy method of geting the old bit out here plse?  They are glued in so tightly that the old carpet tears beside the chrome piece rather than coming out.

You can buy ados glue remover from mitre 10.  Soak the left over carpet for half an hour and then just wipe with a rag.  Dont use a scraper as the ali scratches easily.
